JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel would set free 1,000 Palestinian prisoners if the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas releases Gilda Shalit, the soldier its militants captured four years ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.
