I love this routine! I’m an environmentalist and I still love it. His riff on plastics is great. As are his jabs at environmentalists. Oh…I’m not giving up my belief that we are truly screwing around with some big stuff that may bring about our demise if we don’t start to mkae some changes, but Carlin deals with that too. Thanks for posting this one as well as his take on God.
Yes, it was the plastics that grabbed us also. And the sheer magnitude of thought, what if that was part of our evolution, the planet deciding and we were no more than an ant or a wicked spider beneath a shoe?
I happen to believe in God, but have no set foundation that gives me unwavering faith. I tell God I love him, but I seek out knowledge beyond the Roman Catholic God. There are times, due to my childhood learning of the Roman Catholic religion, when questioning seems disloyal. But as I’ve said more than once, whether I admit to doubt or not, if (see that word, if?), there is an all knowing presence, I’m not going to be very successful hiding my doubt anyway.
What you do is great – but more frequent updates, please?
